Overall Description of Position: |
Designs, organizes, and facilitates the Sophomore Program mentoring sessions on Saturdays. |
|
|
|
|
Reports To: |
Director of Philadelphia Program |
|
Direct Reports Includes: |
Sophomore Program Team Leads, Mentors |
|
Day to Day Roles & Responsibilities: |
· Create calendar of curriculum and work plan for entire year with staff · Design and distribute weekly agenda, tasks and announcements · Monitor and manage all mentee/mentor issues · Manage weekly sessions · Work with Co-Directors of Test Prep to coordinate Math Matters instruction · Collaborate with Directors of Writing & Critical Thinking (W&CT) to implement programming ideas · Work with Directors of Summer Programs to coordinate school applications |

Commitment: |
· October to May, holiday weekends excluded (~25 sessions/year) · 10-15 hours per week (this includes 3-4 hours on Saturdays) · In addition to Saturday sessions, attend 80% of Minds Matter’s monthly leadership meetings |

· Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills · Ability to manage difficult situations with flexibility and professionalism · Initiates and proactively tackles problems · Acts in best interest of Minds Matter students and the organization · Capacity to understand and learn perspectives of multiple stakeholders · Thinks innovatively and creatively |

Collaboration: · Communicate with other Program Directors to develop complementary program curriculum and activities · Share information with staff, providing them with relevant information and thoughts on the program
