Volunteer opportunity description


Work Hours: 2:30- 8:30pm, Monday – Friday or Camp Hours

Supervises: “Arts” Instructors/Teachers, Assistant Instructors/Counselors

Reports to: Site Director/Program Coordinator, Executive Director, and Program Director


  • Supervise all on site program staff and participants
  • Ensure a safe and engaging environment for program participants
  • Ensure compliance with all “host” (building) procedures
  • Liaison with program staff and Site Director regarding the needs and functioning of after-school program
  • Oversee the ordering and maintenance of supplies
  • Maintain all required administrative records and files according to program requirements and applicable regulations
  • Attend any mandatory board or committee meetings and submit monthly attendance reports
  • Attend and/or lead professional development activities which may, on occasion, take place outside of regular hours




  • Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years experience in an academic/recreation setting with children, and at least two years supervisory experience
  • Qualified candidate must be able to multitask between supervising and administrative task on a daily basis
  • Qualified candidates must have a strong commitment to youth. Must be willing to learn and implement new strategies to inspire students to be positive, thoughtful, and motivated to work hard and take risks.
