Description & History

Career Wardrobe is a social enterprise that uses clothing and professional development to empower women to work. A Philadelphia-based organization, we assist women transition from poverty, violence, or incarceration to employment and independence. In the past 20 years, more than 80,000 women have benefitted from our assistance which includes interview clothing to increase confidence and professional development seminars to prepare for employment.
The Wardrobe Boutique is the cornerstone of our mission and services where supporters, volunteers and women in need come together to donate, shop, and volunteer. Open to the public Monday-Saturday, The Boutique offers high end, contemporary resale clothing and accessories with prices 50%-70% off retail. Unemployed women can qualify for a private appointment for professional clothing at Hope's Closet, located inside The Boutique.
Clothing donations of professional or resale clothing and accessories are accepted Monday-Saturday 12pm - 6pm. Donors with large quantities or who need assistance are asked to call for an appointment or use one of our monthly clothing drives. Please visit for a list of current monthly clothing drives.
