WAWA Welcome America Philadelphia Internship

This is no ordinary internship….
Wawa Welcome America! is looking for college students to assist with event planning.

Be an event star! Earn valuable experience and build your resume. Wawa Welcome America! is looking for interns to help with the planning of one of the nation’s largest summer festivals, beginning this spring.

Join the dynamic Welcome America! Team, as it rolls out the red-white-and-blue carpet to the world. What better place to spend your time and talents this summer than in the birthplace of the nation around the July 4th holiday ... in the cradle of liberty… in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.

Polish your writing skills; learn the ‘in’s and out’s” of organizing an event from scratch. Hone your research abilities. Demonstrate your PR and organizational skills. Meet interesting professionals and network. Take your career to the next level. The internship is designed for college students. It is free and lasts a few months. But the experience will last a lifetime. (Reimbursement for travel is available.)

The Wawa Welcome America! festival internship applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until Thursday, February 28. If interested, go to the festival website (www.welcomeamerica.com), to the "Contact Us" page; fill out application and send your resume and application to the e-mail address listed on the “Contact Us” page.

Wawa Welcome America! festival features live performances, interactive games, food, family fun and more, from Monday, June 24 to Thursday, July 4, 2013. The multi-day festival celebrates America’s birthday in America’s birthplace. Produced by Welcome America, Inc.  Philadelphia residents and visitors will experience the patriotic sights and sounds of the spectacular Wawa Welcome America! festival. The highly-anticipated event highlights exciting performances from local artists, outdoor movie screenings, interactive games, food and educational programs for children.

The spectacular fun fest concludes with a July 4th finale on the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway featuring the Philly 4th of July Jam, “The Largest Free Concert in America,” with house band and homegrown talent THE ROOTS, under the direction of band member and Wawa Welcome America! Musical Director, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson. Lauryn Hill, Daryl Hall, Michael McDonald, John Legend, Earth Wind and Fire and many others have graced the Welcome America! stage on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
