AmeriCorps NCCC in the City of Brotherly Love!

The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a program that engages young men and women between the ages of 18-24 in a 10-month full-time, team-based service experience.  NCCC teams reside in one of five regional campuses and travel to  complete service projects within those regions.  Monday, April 30th marked the arrival of the Raven 2 NCCC team in Philadelphia.  The  team completed a number of projects in the PhillyRising neighborhoods of Swampoodle, Point Breeze, Frankford and Hartranft.  Each project was aimed at addressing issues of blight and  safety as well as providing support for community led beautification efforts.   Additionally, Raven 2  provided support for city-led projects such as the first annual Love Your Park Week.
